i love a lot of different types of books, but am also kind of picky too. here are three of my go-to genres, can you suggest me a book

romance: i love a good romance (straight or LGBT). enemies to lovers, childhood friends, fake dating, secret relationship, i love it all. i read RWRB, carry on, the song of Achilles, heartstopper, nisekoi, and really love them. i also enjoyed the spanish love deception, but the smut at the end was so wildly vulgar and out of character that it put me off, but smut is totally fine with me otherwise.

*fantasy: as a kid and adult, i love books set in our world that are slightly fantastical, like harry potter and percy jackson, but also more otherworldly books like the grishaverse, scythe, lord of the rings, one piece, the cruel prince. i enjoy the politics and world of game of thrones but it’s far too long for me

classics: i haven’t read a ton, but have loved the ones ive read so far. handmaid’s tale, dorian grey, murder on the orient express (never read mystery before but it was so good), the odyssey, the oresteia, wuthering heights, metamorphoses (ovid), the iliad, the golden ass.

other books i’ve enjoyed: good omens, foxhole court, pet sematary (i was so scared lol), perks of being a wallflower, room, the alchemist, pachinko, the secret history, the ones who walk from omelas.

    1. Sarah J Maas- fantasy and romance in the court of thrones and roses series

Nora Roberts, well known romance author, has branched out recently to fantasy. She always had a few stories with magical elements, but is incorporating much more fantasy in some of her newer ones.

If you like some more erotic type stuff, Anne rice’s exit to eden. There’s a lot of sex in most of her books, iirc, however that is more along the lines of fifty shades (but much better written).
