My daughter will be sleeping away from me for the first time in her life when I give birth.
We’ve read some good books that feature a mom and dad going to the hospital overnight for birth while the kid stays behind. However, it’s generally just mentioned briefly.
I’m looking for good books to read where separation is the focus – about how I’ll always come back to her, staying away overnight in general, etc
The Daniel Tiger “grownups come back” song and episodes really resonate with her but I do not see an associated book.

Make your own. It’s called a social story and people do them for young or autistic kids.
Just needs to be a few pages with you and dad going somewhere and then coming home.
