Some of my favorites growing up were A Wrinkle in Time, The Giver, and The Uglies.
In recent years I’ve only been able to find two books that were able to grab my attention to the point that I could finish them: Graham Hancock’s Entangled and this gloriously mysterious book called This Was Written for You (HIGHLY recommend btw).
I think the things I enjoy in a book are: mystery, a spiritual/philosophical/introspective component, and I think most of all I like to be left with a feeling of hope (for myself and/or society at large). I truly loved the experimental narrative style of the last book I read (this was written for you) and the fact that the author of the book is unknown really added to the intrigue. That book was written from the perspective of your imagination, as if your imagination was talking to you. It was a fascinating journey to say the least, and now I’m craving a book that pulls me in the same way or at least similar.
It’s so hard for me to find a book I actually feel pulled into, and these are all my absolute top picks. I wish I had more top picks but being so picky makes my list quite small.
Any suggestions welcome!
