My son will be 5 soon.
Unfortunately, I never got into the habit of reading to him. I do regret this, and I want to do something to put reading into our daily routine.
But I swear, if I have to read *The Serious Goose* or *A Hole In the Bottom of the Lake* one more tike, I may never read a book again.
Any audiobook recommendations? We’re listening to Harry Potter right now, because why not?

Audiobooks are so fun at 5! We love the Henry Huggins and Ramona series (audible has like five books for one credit) they are quite dated, but they are fun. My kids just listen to their favorite chapters now since they’ve done all of the stories dozens of times.
Fortunately The Milk by Neil Gaiman is fantastic! If you are planning on listening in the car this one is great because it’s still good the fifth time through.
How to Train Your Dragon is narrated by David Tennant and is also a great story for the car. I only liked the first one, but it has the added bonus of introducing your child to a very long series.
Magic Treehouse has a million audiobooks some better than others.
If you have a great library, the Magic Schoolbus books are 30 minutes long. They read the story and then read all the side panels and extra facts which is a lot of fun and a good story length at 5.
harry potter is actually out of his age group that that isnt a bad thing. My parents read us chapter books and i started reading on my own at age 4 because of this. There are lots of more kid friendly chapter books check out the magic tree house series.
