My son is 10. This past year we read and loved Project Hail Mary, The Martian (With lots of reminders that language was not to be repeated!), Endurance and Finding Gobi. A year or so ago we read and loved the Boy Who Harnessed The Wind. I am looking for other more modern adult books to try. I am okay with language but nothing with sexual content and he has a hard time with major deaths in the books (of people or animals!).
Any suggestions for what to try next? He loves Science, Animals and Mythology, but we read a lot of different stuff and I just want something engaging and fun to read.
Note: Do not fret, we have also read (and enjoyed) ton of the classic kid/young adult books (Harry Potter, Riorden, Narnia etc) and many adult classics (Jules Verne, Tolkien, 3 Musketeers etc). However, I have found the more modern adult books make the top of our favorites each year and am on the quest to find more In that vain.
