    1. Horror, like thriller/splatterpunk horror? I’ve got tons of those. TL;DR list at the bottom just in case!

To start out with my favorite, I’d have to recommend “The Groomer” by Jon Athen. I love Jon Athen’s work, it delves into extremely sensitive and rather disgusting topics, which a lot of them are despicable but some of his books shed light to issues that are kicked under the rug. So, if that’s something that would interest you, check out any of Jon Athen’s works. Anyways, “The Groomer” is about exactly what you’re thinking. But worse. I won’t go into detail here due to lack of being able to spoiler messages in comments (to my knowledge, that is) so the summary is something you’re gonna have to look into on your own.

Second one, which also contains sensitive subjects, is “Shallow River” by H.D. Carlton. Much like Jon Athen, “Shallow River” digs deeper into issues that are overlooked. But the topic doesn’t include any minors but similar crimes. Also something I cannot go into detail about due to the same reason listed above.

Third one, which is on the more “normal” side of horror I suppose, is “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides. It’s definitely a thriller that’ll keep you on your toes, wondering what is gonna happen on the next page. A girl falls permanently silent, refusing to talk to anyone, including her family, friends, and authorities. But one man is determined to get her talking, and if he succeeds, he knows it won’t be pretty… there’s a MASSIVE unexpected twist towards the end, which I obviously won’t spoil.
