What James Patterson to read?

I recently started this Alex Cross series and I loved Along came a spider and Roses are red. I read the books out of order just considering the ratings, though I hate it.Now I lost interest in reading Alex Cross series in order.So please suggest the best Alex Cross and Patterson books as well.Thanks in advance.
