Kind of a specific ask, but I have read the first two books of the Lost Fleet, and all three books of the Genesis Fleet. And while I truly enjoy the Lost Fleet, I much preferred the smaller scope of the Genesis Fleet. In other words, I really liked the focus on just one ship, and a few POV characters telling a smaller scale story about a handful of colonies versus the large scale political drama of administrating an entire fleet that we got in Lost Fleet.
Anyone who has read the other Jack Campbell series, are they all big fleet stuff like Lost Fleet? Are there any that are more like the smaller, focused scope of the Genesis Fleet? My understanding is that some/all of the other series are direct follow ups to the Lost Fleet, is that true? Do I need to read Lost Fleet first?
If none of Campbell's other series meet what I'm looking for, is there something else with the same feel and scope as the Lost Fleet?
