My son needs more nonfiction books to read. He is super into graphic novels, but I also want to get him some chapter books.
He currently reads the I Survived and Nathan Hale graphic novel series. I know that there are also I Survived chapter books.
When I asked him what he he might want to read about, he told me FOOD. So aside from cookbooks, what are some food or chef related books that a 10yo might find interesting?
Any other nonfiction books for middle grade kids you might recommend?

I can’t recommend this book enough, “Chinese Fairy Tales.” I had to look it up because I didn’t quite remember the exact name but I had it in my classroom library until a student “borrowed” it, permanently! lol (trust me, it ties the recipes with the fairy tales)
I would recommend checking with your local librarian. Our library has a huge kids nonfiction section that my son loves.
He’s never looked into food so I don’t have any specific recommendations (he’s more interested in animals, weather/natural disasters, and fishing). He loves the I Survived and Who Would Win series.
I bet they have books about foods from around the world. Or the history of food.
Another great non fiction series (from my childhood) is the magic school bus.
“All Things Bright and Beautiful” series By James Herriot: Again Written at the time or just after so it is only “Historical Fiction” after the fact.
