Except the ones in school ofc. I'm 16 and really want to get into reading books.
I'm not exactly sure what I want, but I do know I want something that I can learn from in life.
Preferably something a little light, easy to read & finish but not too-too important.
I have terrible ADHD so I procastinate A LOT and waste a lot of time doing so. Which is something I really wanna change.
Doesn't necessarily have to do anything with just that. Could be light romance or something but probably not Sci-Fi or something like that.
Just want to have a good time while also possibly learning something.
Would keep you updated on what I end up reading, and really appreciate anyone who wants to help me on my journey.
EDIT: Did not expect these many suggestions, I really appreciate everyone a lot. But I'd love some more non-fictional books instead. Something philosophical or focused more on real-life maybe.

I’ll throw in “I’m Glad My Mom Died” by Jennette McCurdy.
Jennette McCurdy was a child actress who was one of the main characters on the Nickelodeon show “iCarly” and this is her memoir.
It’s so engaging, I couldn’t put it down, and I had no idea who she was and had never seen any show she was in before I read it.
As someone with ADHD, be sure not to use ADHD to say you can’t read books! It will definitely be a bit harder to pick up the book and to get started, but at the same time it’s a bit easier to fixate on something that grabs your attention so reading /can/ be a breeze if the book is good.
I will always and forever recommend reading The Hunger Games series. The first book is very short and gets going fast. I recommend THG because they were also made into movies so after finishing the book you could watch the movie to compare. It might be more of a push to finish the book if you want to watch the movie. There’s also a new book coming out in March so the hunger games community is very active and excited!! There’s lots of discussion over how the new book is going to play out.
Read in this order:
The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay (this was made into two movies)
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Sunrise on the Reaping (releasing March 18th)
The Alchemist by Paul Coelho this book is about following ones dreams to find purpose and Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton this book has a lot more in it then the movie. Pondering over if cloning is ethically right.
I would recommend Holes by Louis Sachar. It’s easy to read and there is a great movie adaptation as well for you to enjoy once you finish the book. It was one of my favorite books when I was your age.
it depends what you like but when i was your age i loved:
tears of a tiger (TW: SA);
the bluford series;
colleen hoover (hopeless was my favorite but they are all good) ;
madeline miller song of achillies;
clytemnestra
just a few to get you started (;
Nothing crazy start with something that are for you. not heavy books I make that mistake and I pay it wth no reading for years
The Little Prince by Saint-Exupery. As a starting place, can’t get any better.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
I saw someone recommend Holes and I completely agree.
Personally my first book was Hobbit and I would suggest it to everybody to start.
Unmasked by Ellie Middleton (autistic & adhder)
Ok, I’ve not read it but it’s on my list!
The State of Grace by Rachel Lucas
Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki
It’s a short, easy read filled with wonder and heartbreak and coming of age in a world not made for you.
