Is anyone able to recommend some non-fiction books which deal specifically with detailing activist movements/campaigns which have led to social change?
They can either be about specific movements (e.g. women's movement, civil rights movement) or about activism more broadly.
Essentially I'm looking for something relatively inspiring and which might also help to inspire me to take some action myself. 🙂

Commenting mostly to follow, but to your last point, Democracy in Retrograde by Emily Amick and Sami Sage is a how to on this subject. Also Originals by Adam M. Grant has a little bit of information about the inner workings of some activist movements (but also a lot of other stuff.)
*A history of America in ten strikes* by Erik Loomis
