Suggest me a classic/older book that has eccentric characters

I’ve been a huge fan of Dostoevsky’s books and one thing I’ve noticed is that there’s no such thing as a “normal” character in his books. I’m sure there’s plenty of modern books with eccentric characters, but I’m keen on finding some older books with some.

By eccentric I don’t mean they have to be absolutely insane or all over the place, but can also just be they are “off” compared to a normal person
