I’m planning on participating in this year’s Toronto Public Library reading challenge. I have books selected for every category except “Book about an influential Canadian woman”. Any suggestions? Open to biography, autobiography, or novel. I’d prefer to avoid books that are on the dry/dense side. Bonus points if it’s available as an audiobook.

Margaret Atwood comes to mind first.
Maybe a book about Mary Pickford?
The Answer is – Alex Trebek
Susannah Moodie’s Roughing It In the Bush?
Anything about Laura Secord or Voila Desmond?
I Can Only Paint by Irene Gammel is a fascinating non-fiction book about Mary Riter Hamilton, a Canadian woman who travelled to France and Belgium just after WW1 to paint the battlefields. Also a beautiful book, full of images.
