I read a lot in my spare time at work (food service). I use the Apple Books app, as it allows me to take my reading anywhere I'd already have my phone. I recently finished reading Catch-22, which I absolutely loved, but it was not something I could read effectively at work. There are too many distractions, I have to step away every few minutes, and it's just overall too complex for that environment, so I eventually had to finish it strictly outside of work. After I finished reading it, I decided I'd start reading two books at a time; one for work and one for home. My current work book is the novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is perfect for that environment. It's much more simple, it's easy to walk away from and come back to, the chapters are shorter, and there isn't complex prose or many places to get lost.
What are some other books I can read while I'm at work that are simple and light? I like literary fiction, satire, noir, mystery, but I'm really open to anything. I love clever writing and things that make me laugh (I had a blast with Catch-22 and outside work I recently started down the Pynchon rabbit hole with The Crying of Lot 49)
