Book on Irish Independence

I’ve read ‘Say Nothing’ and ‘The Easter Rebellion’ by Caulfield. Say Nothing was super readable but The Easter Rebellion was a slog. Looking for a book to fill in the missing years from 1916 to the 1970s, preferably something readable like Say Nothing.
