I need a book for my high school English class this semester and my teacher says it needs to have a lexile level of 1100ish ( 1000-1100+) but I can’t find any books . I like classic fiction novels.
Young Adult focused: *Island of the Blue Dolphins,* Scott O’Dell (much loved when I was young). *The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime*, Mark Haddon (mystery).
General classics: *The Bell Jar,* Sylvia Plath (contains depression and a suicide attempt). *1984*, George Orwell (classic dystopia). *Pride and Prejudice*, Jane Austen (one of the most classics of classics). *The Great Gatsby*, F. Scott Fitzgerald. *To the Lighthouse*, Virginia Woolf.
