A book with a lawyer and an incarcerated defendant/client preparing the trial?
As the title suggests, I’m looking for a book that features a lot of scenes where a lawyer, attorney, or public defender meets with their client in jail to prepare for trial. I want to see them strategize, go over evidence, rehearse statements or testimonies, and really dig into the preparation process.
I’d also like to see the case eventually make its way to court. It can be either fiction or nonfiction, but my two main requests are:
1. The case is a serious criminal one (something with real stakes).
2. The defendant is in jail without bail, which adds to the tension.
Any recommendations?
Thanks 😊
