They were some of my favorite parts of Les Miserables (slight les mis spoiler).. I loved the idea of a bunch of half drunk idealists and intellectuals, all close and having a deep fondness for each other even where they disagree, culminating in a shared bittersweet fate on the barricades. It was such a small part of Les Mis though, and I found it kinda funny how Marius didn't really spare them much thought after the fact.
Anyhow, are there any full novels with similar vibes to those parts of this book?
