I first noticed this about a year ago when I had been driving on a particularly long road trip at night. Now I'm noticing it with reading. I'm not tired or drowsy. My eyes just seem to cross (not sure if they're actually crossing) but everything becomes unfocused after a few seconds and it's almost like I'm about to fall asleep. It feels like the way we used to purposely do this as kids so that we could see the pictures in those Magic Eye books, except that I'm not doing it on purpose. Do you guys have this issue? If so, how do you manage it?

    1. It happens to me too, when I’m working on art for extended periods. My eyes get done long before I am. Anyway, I just found out that I’m developing cataracts, so maybe that’s it? You might want to get an eye exam. I don’t feel like mine are bad enough for surgery yet but we’ll see in the future.

I would go see a primary care doctor or an eye doctor.

It could be something with your eyes or maybe a neurological symptom. It’s best to get it cleared.

I sometimes suffer from migraines which cause blurry vision but strokes, tumors, eye injuries etc can cause visual symptoms too. Note: I’m not a doctor but work in a medical lab.

    3. Look into binocular vision disfunction. I was just diagnosed and will be getting prism glasses to treat it. Your experience sounds somewhat similar to mine with struggles reading. Hope you find something to help. Not all eye doctors test for this issue. You may need to find somewhere that tests for it specifically.
