She has read chapter books in the 10 chapter/160 page area.
She has fallen in with a couple of girls who are selfish, entitled, and rude – mean girls, I suppose. So maybe something with some moral lessons in that regard.
Her interests have all been short-lived, so I've been unable to pinpoint a genre.
Books will help her build empathy, kindness, and self-reflection and encourage positive behavior without being preachy.

They’re old but the “Malory towers” book series was a favourite in my classes when I was 8. It’s a boarding school series but it focuses on moral lessons and has a bit of fun too. However it does explore the idea of midnight feasts so be ready for them.
