We are all avid readers but also have busy lives, so for our book club we are always looking for books that are fast-paced but not superficial. Think Little Fires Everywhere, The Death of Vivek Oji, Allow Me to Introduce Myself,…female protagonist(s) a plus of course but not mandatory:) What should we read next?

I recently read, I who have never known men By Jacqueline Harpman. I found it to be fascinating! Read it in a couple days

Han Kang’s *The Vegetarian* is a pretty quick paced read while being full of depth to discuss.

Following! Currently reading one of the books you listed and it’s exactly what I’m looking for in future picks

My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

      Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

      Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Happy All the Time by Laurie Colwin

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle (despite its marketing, it’s not a romance but about friendship)

      Quicksand by Nella Larsen

    5. Remarkably bright creatures or lessons in chemistry?

Or Trespasses, the Vanishing Half or An American Marriage

Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors could fit the bill. Wonderful book about recovering from tragedy and familiar bonds.

    7. *The Lion Women of Tehran* by Marjan Kamali might fit the bill. I will say that there is sexual assault in it, just in case you’re trying to avoid violence

I also think Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s books are a lot of fun and well-written
