Independence of thinking is essential for personal growth and true understanding. It allows you to break free from the limitations of external influence and form your own conclusions, rather than blindly adopting someone else's. It’s not about agreeing with the world’s collective views; it’s about questioning, analyzing, and creating your own perspective.
But what happens when we just repeat what others have said? When we read books, are we truly thinking for ourselves, or are we merely echoing the ideas of those who wrote them? What’s the point of reading a book if we’re only ingesting someone else’s thoughts and recycling them as our own? If we don’t take the time to critically engage, then are we truly learning, or just parroting?
How can we ever claim to have our own ideas if we’re only living in the shadows of someone else's thinking?
