I prefer books with a female or nonbinary protagonist but that isn’t a requirement. I like books that lean horror, or witchy, or magical/folky but I will read any genre if the book interests me. I am very open minded.

What would my ideal book be? A horror-leaning book with a female protagonist who is weird or othered (I’m autistic so this really strikes a chord with me) who is maybe a witch or maybe a magical girl (Madoka is my favorite anime) who has to overcome *something* (preferably cosmic horror? or the patriarchy?). I don’t love mushy happy endings. I prefer books with dark themes, but again I’m opened minded to anything even if it fits none of my criteria.
