New to this Sub. Apologies if this has been asked many times before. Loved the Disc World Series – have tried to find another with the same wit, historical allusions, satire, etc. There is only one Terry Pratchett but there must be other clever, well written slightly quirky series (or even one-offs) out there that are also beloved which I just haven’t had the good fortune to stumble upon. Any suggestions: Mystery, Sci-Fi, Fantasy or Historical Fiction? Thank you!

Douglas Adams and Christopher Moore come to mind
Everyone says Douglas Adams, but only for Terry’s early stuff. His later stuff is far far superior to Adams, so you’re gonna be a little disappointed by that.
I’ve not read anything that comes close to Pratchett’s later works, sure comic fantasy is common and some is good, but none seem to have that same spark that pratchett had
He was a genius, and once you’ve read his best stuff it’s gonna be a rare writer who can match that
Maybe (in that they’re not exactly like reading Pratchett, but if you squint a little..) try the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde, the first of which is *The Eyre Affair*.
MYTH INC Robert Lynn Asperin. Spellsinger, Allen Dean Foster. Magic Kingdom For Sale, Terry Brooks. Don’t know about this one yet still on my to be read list. Rivers of London.A little more traditional fairy tale . Jack of Kinrowen , Charles De Lint.
