I’m looking for a few summer reads to read both now to escape the winter blues and to download on my Kindle when my husband and I head down to Disney World in Florida at the end of May! We’ll be visiting the parks, but spending a few days at the beach. It’s mid January in Ohio at the moment and I want to capture the spirit of summer to help me get through winter!
I’m looking for anything that’s set in summer with a beachy or tropical vibe to it, something I can easily read with low to mid stakes. I love books filled with drama, yearning romance (not sexually graphic), endearing friendship, found-family, thrills, or just light-hearted fun. In the past, I’ve loved Elin Hilderbrand, primarily her Paradise series, and The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. Not a huge fan of Emily Henry, but willing to try similar authors. Bonus points if said book somehow captures the same magical feeling you get at Disney World (if that makes sense). Non-fiction recs welcomed!
Honestly I’ve been exclusively reading fantasy for the last year so I feel like a fish out of water! Thanks everyone!
