I tend to read historical fiction but epics that have 800-1000 pages. To give you some idea of my tastes, I’ve read the entire Outlander series and The Clan of the Cave Bear series. Maia by Richard Adams is another favourite. I also devoured a 5-book series on Ghenghis and Kublai Khan.
I just finished Aztek by Gary Jennings. He’s one of my favourite authors. I fell in love with his writing when I first read The Journeyor in the 80’s. I read it again every 5-8 years and it never disappoints. I read Aztek 20 years ago and still have it in softcover. I’m currently in Turkey for cosmetic surgery and I downloaded the entire Aztek series but it’s a heavy read so I need a break after the first book.
Please don’t recommend another series or I’ll get addicted. I can’t read just 1 book in a series and then move on with my life. It will haunt me.
So looking for a large novel that will kill a few days. Roman history, Greek, middle-eastern or Asian history would be great but I’m open to ideas. TIA!
