I am looking for something rather unusual. I've recently got back into books and while I am steadly reducing my backlog I am also constantly looking for something new.
I am interesed in finding a horror Sci-Fi Book. I would like a plot ala Stasis: Bone Totem (Video Game), Signalis (Video Game),Alien (Movie), Dead Space (Video Game) or even Bioshock (Video Game). Many of theese take influence of lovecraftian works and Signalis references the King in Yellow alot of times.
I am interested in Body Horror, recently really enjoyed Dune's Plans within Plans and like Mistery alot.
I am looking for a smaller cast of Characters, like in Stasis: Bone Totem.
Bonus Points if its Queer or a Female Protagonist.

The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling has a queer fmc, it’s sci fi set in a cave system with a dangerous presence.
Our Wives Under the Sea isn’t true sic fi, but it does feel similar me w the ‘came back wrong’ trope, except the trip was to the deep sea vs space. Def body horror tho and a lesbian main couple.
I enjoyed Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes. Somewhat Dead Space-y. Mysterious. Female protag.
Under the Skin by Michel Faber really creeped me out. Body horror. Female MC.
I thought both of these were quite good and seem to fit your criteria.
