I previously got help at an inpatient psychiatric ward some years ago and I would like to buy books to donate there. I would like some suggestions for books that might be helpful. The only thing my mom and I could think of were like sudoku or word find books, but I would love some fiction and non-fiction recommendations.

    1. I’d encourage you to reach out to the intended donation location and ask them directly. There may be various reasons why one type of book is or isn’t allowed, and what will be considered “acceptable” may even vary from patient to patient, let alone location to location.

I love the desire to help and I think you’re doing an awesome thing! I’d just encourage you to ask straight at the source instead of here :).

    2. What sort of books do they already have? You probably have a better idea than anyone of what might suit.

I’ve only done this once for a place where a friend of mine was a patient. The selection was much like any Little Free Library anywhere.
