Pretty much the title. Just finished my 8th book today, and I think I can maaaybe squeeze two more in before February 1st, to make it an even 10.

I’ve never read this many books in one month, it would be awesome to hit the double digit mark.

Open to any suggestions, fiction or non-fiction. I can read roughly ~50 pages per hour.

    Thanks!

    1. A very short, but very impactful book is And The Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman, I think it’s only 75 odd pages, but still very good.

Another one could be A Psalm For the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers which is about 175 pages I think but also very good.

And thinking back to books I’ve read in a day, I would also suggest The Giver by Lois Lowry if you haven’t read that one already.

    2. **Black Pill** by Elle Reeve. 240 pages or so, highly relevant. I read it in two days.

Another one that comes to mind (and much lighter): **Sputnik Sweetheart** by Haruki Murakami.

    3. Yosemite-Westerner on

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America by Erik Larson

If you have Amazon prime membership, you can look into short stories available through prime reading.

Teaching My Mother How to Give Birth is 38 pages. It also happens to be an excellent read.

Books by Claire Keegan are fantastic, you can read Foster right now

    7. NoTransition7163 on

When Among Crows by Veronica Roth is 166 pages and has some interesting folklore/mythology!

    8. Pretty-Plankton on

      All Systems Red, Martha Wells

Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck

Buffalo Gals Won’t You Come Out Tonight, Ursula K LeGuin (the illustrated novelette version for your purposes, not the short story collection, though both are excellent)

Beowulf. For length purposes any version hits the spot, but the translation by Maria Dahvana Headley is fucking amazing and unique

      Barracoon, Zora Neal Hurston

      Holes, Louis Sachar

    9. Ghost wall by Sarah moss – If you want something like a psychological thriller

Sweet bean paste by Durian Sukegawa. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t live up to your potential, or feel like you’re lost. It’s so life changing- even if you don’t read it now you should have it on your TBR

Kiki’s delivery service by Eiko Kadono – the studio ghibli movie was based off of this book!

    10. Check out some classic Irish short stories, you could fit in a few before February.
Guests of the Nation is fanastic.
