    1. Kate Elliott’s fantasy novella “Keeper’s Six” is a about a woman out to rescue her adult son.

NK Jemisin’s “Broken Earth” series starts with three timelines- a girl, a younger woman, and a middle-aged woman, but Jemisin primarily wants to write about the middle-aged woman.

    2. Years ago, I wrote a book called ***Midnight Tequila*** – and oddly enough, I wrote it specifically for aging boomers. People have described it as quirky, offbeat, and darkly funny.

Solange, 52, is a professional harp player – but to actually earn a living she reads Tarot cards on a 900-line. She keeps a dream journal (they’re mostly nightmares), and cares for her elderly diabetic, toothless cat, Bunny May. And she likes tequila. One day she mixes her tequila with her Valium, and enters the Afterlife by mistake. There she gets in touch with her late husband and goes to a concert, and as she returns to her life on earth she comes with answers to her questions about how to continue as an aging flower child and not go nuts.

I love ***The New Yorker’***s *Shouts and Murmurs* column, and these readers were my target audience.
