I’ve had some very good recommendations on this subreddit, namely numerous slice of life titles (Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop, Sweet Bean Paste, and my favorite, which celebrates friendship, The Traveling Cat Chronicles, and the list could go on).

Through perusing different suggestion requests, I also discovered Wallace Stegner. Stegner’s writing is truly a treat. There were times while reading his work when I would have to pause. Almost regardless of the plot, his writing is amazing and alone can hold his stories up.

The Thursday Murder Club was one I found here as well. I do have a soft spot for books featuring elderly main characters for whatever reason and I enjoyed the British humor.

Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan (as well as other books by her) – I love how Keegan doesn’t waste a single word and doesn’t feel the need to overshare. The length of her books are satisfying. It seems to me that she trusts her readers a great deal by leaving just enough mystery. Incredibly skilled author and I’m pleased to have found her work.

What are some wonderful reads you’ve found through this subreddit?

And if you recommended any of the above, you might just be the reason I was able to find these great books, so thank you!
