I don't want to get too political, but I feel like some books will be banned and lost in time. I feel like animal farm and 1984 are some obvious choices. What are some other books that you think our government might want to hide eventually?

On Tyranny by Timothy Synder
It is a short read, but really powerful
those books are public domain at this point and no lol they arent getting banned. Weve been there done that already for past 50 years and still nothing. Only books getting banned(not really) are the ones about “johnny is 5 years old and likes to wear dresses, you should start calling HER Janet”
It really amazes me to see this kind of post coming and coming. I mean no offense but do you think you will really not be able to find a book like animal farm in the US? Were there are millions of copies already printed, is most probably at the home of a lot of people you know or you can fish it out of any used books store? Or in any case downloaded from the web or a telegram bot… If you can pay for it you will get it and if even if you dont pay for it.
I respect the political positions but dont freak out
Not to be rude, but I think you are overreacting. These books likely won’t ever be banned. Not the ones you mentioned anyway. It is very hard to actually ban a book. Removing it from school public or private may happen, but you will still be able to buy the book or read it online.
Even trans literature, the books that are most actively being suppressed, are not simply going to vanish in thin air. There are pirated copies, free publishing internationally, many copies in the hands of private citizens. I know things seem very bleak, but even the most targeted literature won’t be “gone”. That being said, there are very real threats to the accessibility of trans literature in the near future. It’s worth buying a few books, just in case they become difficult to access in the near future and people in your community need them.
