Maybe they pretended to be someone they’re not, or said they were dating someone they weren’t or said they could do something they couldn’t, and then they go in an epic journey to either cover up the lie with more lies, or to turn that lie into a truth. It can be any genre, any level of seriousness, as long as it’s well written. I’d rather not read something too cringey though. If it’s going to take itself seriously, it has to do it well.
