I’m working on a play that is a comedic pulpy romance based on historical characters. The whole idea is that I’m taking great creative license and making it very sexy and very funny. I haven’t really read much Harlequin style romance books so I’m looking for recommendations to get ideas from. Thanks!

Trashy means bad. There are no good trashy books.
Sidney Sheldon would be a good author to start with. I loved The Other Side of Midnight when I read it at about 13. Don’t know if this helps; I haven’t read romance since I read that in junior high, but I’ve always remembered that book.
lol i don’t know maybe just pick a few at random at the used bookstore and read them, they are similar; and you can read them pretty quickly. with this genre i dont think anything rises above the others..
