Ever want to review what you just read, but feel a little self conscious making a whole post about it? Yeah, me too.
So feel free to take this opportunity to leave a mini review of the book(s) you recently finished! I’m including star ratings and genres, but do whatever feels right to you.

Evenings and Weekends- Oisín McKenna
Genre: LGBTQ+, Literary Fiction (I think)
Stars: 4.25/5
The ending was abrupt and unfulfilling, but I rated this a little higher than I initially thought because the characters were so vivid and real on the page- unfortunately, I thought everyone but Rosaleen, Steve, and Joan were insufferable.
A Short History of Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce- Massimo Montanari
Genre: Nonfiction, Food, History
Stars: 4.5/5
This little book really felt more like a very long essay, but was informational and engaging to read! It took a bit to get off the ground, but once it got past-a (haha) the beginning it was fascinating. Did you know people used to cook macaroni for two hours on purpose? Horrifying.
Summer Reading- Jenn McKinlay
Genre: Romance, Fiction
Stars: Did Not Finish (DNF) at 50%
I thought the plot was going to be cute, but the execution was so annoying that I burned out half way through. It felt like the author didn’t trust me to figure things out, so everything was explained- Sam’s dyslexia, Em’s issues, how hot Ben was… and on and on. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the “insta-love” trope, so I was just disappointed after that.
