    Hello!

I’m looking for book related YouTube channels that focus more on literary fiction or genres besides romance/romantacy. Any recommendations? I read a lot of lit fic but I love any genre honestly. Recently I’ve enjoyed sci-fi, epic fantasy, classics (currently rereading the Odyssey), but I’ll try any book if it looks good! It’s just lot of the YouTube channels I’m finding seem to focus heavily on romance, which isn’t what I’ve been into lately. A couple I have liked are bridget b/bridgetish (also her TikTok), Lexi/newlynova, and The Book Leo. That’s kind of the vibe I’m hoping for I suppose.

I tried to search around this subreddit for something but all the posts I found were a couple years old, and most of the suggestions weren’t around any more or had taken down their videos.

Thanks in advance for any ideas! 🙂

I think you may like plant based bride. She reads quite diverse. You should try her channel out.

    2. I really enjoy Tristan and the Classics.  His enthusiasm and joy about bookish things boosts my spirits.

    3. Not sure if I am allowed to promote my own channel here but I make videos about science fiction books. Mostly vintage stuff at the moment with book hauls, reviews and rankings. SciFiFinds on YouTube if you are interested, would appreciate your feedback.

I don’t think I recognize any of the ones that you listed so unsure if the vibes are the same BUT my personal Mt Rushmore of Youtube creators with (exclusively or frequent) book-related content are Jack Edwards, WithCindy, PeruseProject, & Jessethereader. While they occasionally talk romance books, their tastes are very diverse — a lot of literary fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, historical, etc. Their book reviews are thoughtful & full of personality, and I’ve gotten tons of good recs from their channels over the years.

BookLeo is the only one I still watch tbh. Got so sick of the book hauls, insane unrealistic amount of “what I read this months”, and pushing of all the over hyped new releases that I’ve unsubscribed to everyone else.

    6. My favourite booktubers to watch in no particular order are:

Ashley’s Little Library – mix of genres

Annemarie DeClarke – 10 Minute non spoiler reviews of thriller books

Chapter And Converse – Reviews Mystery/Thriller/Crime & the ocassional romance book

Francesca’s Books – Thriller books with some romance thrown in occasionaly

Griff Reads – Fantasy mostly with some thriller also

JustAli – Fantasy and romance with some crime and thriler thrown in

Typeone Reader – Reads a mix of most genres
