As the title says, I (20F) want to gift my gf (20F) a good book for valentine’s day. She has a list which I have pasted below. If anyone has any advice, comments, suggestions, or could talk more about the book and what you thought, that’d be great! Here is the list:
No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
A Pale View of Hills and When we were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro
Wicked the Book
The Women by Kristin Hannah
One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
Furyborn by Claire Legrand
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Emily Henry Romance Novels
Teddy By Emily Dunlay
Please help me out. I’m not an active reader like she is and i’m just looking for some advice from you book lovers! Thanks

I’m a firm believer that you cannot go wrong with Kazuo Ishiguro, so either A Pale View of Hills or When We Were Orphans are both good choices. Ishiguro has beautiful prose.
Wicked the book is fun book with some key differences from the musical, so it’s not wholly redundant if you saw the show or the movie.
The Bell Jar is a painfully intimate novel which is made moreso by the fact that Plath had stated that she had taken a bunch of stuff from her own life and wrote it down.
In a similar manner, No Longer Human seems to draw a lot from the author’s life (and death).
Any of these would be a good choice.
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins, gave it as a gift to my last girlfriend. Of course, I never found out what she thought about it, relationship was quite short.
The Bell Jar is one of my favorite books! Plath in general is excellent.
