Top 5 Standalones
- 'Lonely Castle in the Mirror' – Mizuki Tsujimura
- 'Weyward' – Emilia Hart
- 'The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue' – V.E. Schwab
- 'Bunny' – Mona Awad (apparently, a sequel is planned)
- 'It' – Stephen King
Top 5 Series
- 'Vicious'/'Vengeful' – V.E. Schwab
- 'Emily Wilde' Series – Heather Fawcett
- 'Howl's Moving Castle' Series – Dianna Wynne Jones
- 'Hobbit'/'Lord of the Rings' – J.R.R. Tolkien (duh)
- Brandon Sanderson's secret projects, especially 'Tress of the Emerald Sea' and 'Yumi and the Nightmare Painter'
Other books I've enjoyed:
'The Midnight Library' – Matt Haig
'Our Wives Under the Sea' – Julia Armfield
'Tender is the Flesh' – Agustina Bazterrica
'1984' – George Orwell
'Animal Farm' – George Orwell
'Heaven' – Mieko Kawakami
'Six of Crows' – Leigh Bardugo (planning to read the sequel soon)
'A Certain Hunger' – Chelsea G. Summers
'Diary of a Void' – Emi Yagi
In general I'd read any genre, but have a preference for fantasy and horror. I like books that mess with your brain and leave room for interpretation. I don't enjoy overly long series. I don't mind romance, but I don't want it to be the main focus of the plot.
Thanks in advance!!
