I prefer reading a physical book. I’ve noticed when listening to audiobooks, my attention will wander for a minute or two, so if the story involves flashbacks, multiple POV changes, very complex details, etc, I will get lost and then be unable to flip back a few pages to reorient myself. However, I like being able to listen while walking my dog.
Please recommend a book that is BETTER as an audiobook. Open to most genres, though I prefer literary fiction, historical fiction, and mysteries. Some of my favorite recent reads: North Woods by Daniel Mason, Piranesi by Susannah Clarke, The Axeman’s Carnival by Catherine Chidgey, Unlikely Animals by Annie Hartnett, The Wolf Den trilogy by Elodie Harper, most of Kate Morton’s novels.
Edit: I have a feeling Project Hail Mary will be mentioned, but I’ve already read it (and loved it!).
