Currently reading The Drinker by Hans Fallada – written in secret while he was locked up in an insane asylum in Nazi Germany.

Started thinking about other works created in the midst of extreme circumstances (plenty out there written about extreme events, but being in the thick of it during the writing process is an interesting factor) – interestingly, The Diary of Anne Frank was the other that came to mind, but surely there are more – would love to explore this admittedly niche genre more.

      The Cost of Discipleship—Dietrich Bonhoeffer

      Letters to Olga—Vaclav Havel

    2. The diving bell and the butterfly…
Depicts Jean-Dominique Bauby’s life after suffering a massive stroke that left him with a condition known as locked-in syndrome.
