Something that will blow my mind (or at least keep me guessing/entertained)

I love a mystery, a mind fuck, a shock, a twist. It doesn’t have to be a murder mystery, or incredibly dark, but it can be! I just want something that sucks me in and keeps me guessing or at least keeps me entertained until some unexpected twist. I’ll be listening to it as an audiobook if that makes any difference.

I just started reading (listening, really) again now that I work from home so my recent books list is short but:

• Project Hail Mary : loved it
• None of This is True : i enjoyed the listen but thought the ending was lame
• The Patient : it was fine, didn’t love it, guessed the ending
• The Housemaid : brutal. hated it.

This is less important but I do sometimes struggle with older books, I don’t know if it’s that the references take me out of it or what. If you have a suggestion that happens to be an older book I’m still game to give it a shot of you think it’s really worth it !
