Any books like the Poppy War but with Black/brown MCs?

I really loved the Poppy War, it wasn't perfect, but I couldn't keep it down. Do you guys know of any fantasy books like it, but with a black/brown female MC? It'd be nice if there was romance. I would also like if it was LGB but not marketed as "queer" if that makes sense.

I just need something exciting! I don't mind if the culture isn't rooted in Africa of the Middle East. It's just every fantasy book I've read for the past 3 books have had a blonde haired blue eyes MC.
