I read a book and can’t find it again. Can you help?

I read a book following the perspective of a robot. I remember it being bought from a store to be a kids friend, and I remember a scene where the kid has to attend a mandatory socialization event because everyone lives in their own homes all the time.

It's sci fi, and I think it was translated from an Asian language but I'm not sure. Any ideas of what book this could be?
