probably try Vonnegut
You can try *Slaughterhouse 5* for a book that’s basically a realistic account of WW2 with very weird sci-fi elements thrown in. Beautiful book and very sad, but also darkly funny.
*Never Let Me Go* is touching and full of depth about a world that’s just slightly different than ours. Explaining how is kind of a spoiler but generally you want to go into this book without reading up on it much. It’s written by Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro so that should speak to its quality a little.
*100 Years of Solitude* is the nuclear option here. Long, hard, but a classic of magical realism, well worth the read.
*Babel* by R.F. Kuang should do the trick.
Based on your list I think you would really enjoy {{Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy}}! Maybe {{Chlorine by Jade Song}} or {{The Rabbit Hutch by Tess Gunty}}
Little, Big by John Crowley
Ooo, I quite enjoyed *Bless Me, Ultima*, by Rudolfo Anaya.
Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel
