I know this is gonna sound like a troll post, but I promise it isn’t. I’m simply tired of trying and not succeeding in making friends and forcing relationships (including romantic ones). And at my age (29), I simply don’t feel like trying anymore. I want so badly to just walk away from it and “wander my own road” as one of my favorite artists puts it. It’s how I started my life and likely how I’ll end it (either by natural causes or “the other way”).

I want inner peace and not have anymore internal conflict. To know I tried my best, it wasn’t enough, but that’s the most I can do and that all I have is myself. For clarity, I’m not saying I’ll live in the mountains like a hermit. I’ll still work and be in public and all that. I’m just wondering if there’s a book that can cover living a genuinely good and fulfilling life alone. I don’t want advice either.

Here are two book recommendations that explore solitude, self-acceptance, and finding fulfillment without relying on external relationships:

      1. [**Solitude: In Pursuit of a Singular Life in a Crowded World**](https://amzn.to/4hscUlZ) by Michael Harris – This book examines the beauty and power of solitude, showing how it can be a source of creativity, self-discovery, and deep contentment. Harris explores historical perspectives on solitude and how modern society has lost touch with its benefits.
      2. [**How to Be Alone: If You Want To, and Even If You Don’t**](https://amzn.to/42LuOM5) by Lane Moore – A raw and deeply personal book that discusses the struggle of feeling alone in a world that emphasizes relationships. Moore, a comedian and writer, shares her journey of embracing solitude, finding meaning in her own company, and understanding that being alone doesn’t mean being lonely.

I attached the links in the titles above to their Amazon pages for you to check them out. Enjoy!
