My all time favorite series is the Gone series by Michael Grant (including the sequels) I've also loved the Maze Runner books (including the prequels) and all of the main Percy Jackson and the Olympian books. I haven't sat down and read a book in a really long time and I want to get back into doing so again, but I'm struggling to find series that I feel like will re-capture the love I had for these books when I was younger.

The Murderbot Diaries might be right up your alley. Definitely more adult, but still a very fun read.

Hey, yo, have you thought about reading the sci-fi classics? How about Dune? What about Foundation? Smarmy infomercial tone aside, those books are very excellent. There is also Hyperion, A Canticle for Leibowitz, I Robot, Childhoods End, The Left Hand of Darkness, The Invisible Man, and Frankenstein. Honestly, there are just too many great scifi books to list! I recommend checking some of them out.

    3. Opinions will differ on how the series overall holds up, but a Sci-Fi that can be read at a YA level (but is also fantastic in general) is *Ender’s Game* by Orson Scott Card. The first book is pretty universally-loved no matter what, the sequels start getting fuzzier though.

A Sci-Fi series that I read around the same time that I read Percy Jackson is a series called H.I.V.E. by Mark Walden. Think Harry Potter, but instead of a school for wizards, it’s a school for supervillains (no magic/supernatural as far as I remember, just technology and whatnot).

Lastly, James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series and Daniel X series were additional favorites of mine from around that time of reading as well.

Invictus by Ryan Graudin. Great time travel premise with great character arcs and camaraderie.

It’s a great time to visit (or revisit) the Hunger Games, since a new installment is coming out in March!

Red Rising is a series that you might find enjoyable. It’s a space opera that’s heavily inspired by Dune and the Count of Monte Cristo.

Old Man’s War by John Scalzi is a fun series that’s engaging and fast paced. This series is fun but not overly complicated, so it would be a good starting place for someone to get back into reading.

    6. Kind of Sci-fi, kind of dystopian, but still an older YA – Scythe by Neal Shusterman. It’s a great series!
