I have a new friend and her child is neurodivergent and struggles with socializing. My children played with them but were confused about what was going on. My kids are kind, compassionate and want to include everyone so I have to gather books and tools to help them understand their new friend! Book suggestions for kids 5 and under please!!!!!

I don’t know about 5 and under and I appreciate you’ve reiterated that but one book that I think might help you if not them is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. I recommend that you read it in its entirety and decide if any of it is appropriate. There might at least be some passages (if not entire chapters) that you could read to your children to help them understand how people can think very very differently.
