As the title states, I’d like nonfiction books regarding the rise of media illiteracy and the how that came to happen. I wouldn’t mind essays.
I’m not looking for texts on media literacy at the moment, but more so the psychology and social mental state that has made people lack media literacy as a skill.

Can you expand on what you mean by media illiteracy? Do you mean social media literacy, like thinking critically about what you read online? How easy or hard it is to find and evaluate media sources?
