I need a great bunch of suggestions for literate worl Builder books. I don't care for fantasy/magic.

I've read a number – read Foreigner in 2018. Was my first SciFi novel.im hooked on the genre.

I didn't like Disc World. I liked the Culture books. I love series.

    What do you think?

    1. >I liked the Culture books

I like the Culture books too! Here are some more you may like:

      * The Hainish Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin. It’s very similar to The Culture. I like to imagine that the Hainish Cycle is the distant past of The Culture. The books can be read in any order if you wish. My favourites are Rocannon’s World and The Left Hand of Darkness.

      * Courtship Rite by Donald Kingsbury. Not a series, but this lesser known sci fi novel has such *incredibly* rich worldbuilding.

      * Any of the books by [Kim Stanley Robinson](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1858.Kim_Stanley_Robinson). I don’t love his writing, since I find his characters unlikable, but he is a well renowned author that a lot of people like. The Red Mars series and 2312 are two examples that specifically deal with terraforming, space mega-infrastructure, and literal building of worlds.

      * The Snow Queen series by Joan D. Vinge. Inspired by Dune and also by the fairy tale The Snow Queen. There’s some interesting worldbuilding.

    2. I’ve read a lot finding by searching the SciFi awards like Hugo so I am looking less obvious authors who write incredible complex world building and characters. I’m very opened to new untried authors if someone recommends and liked it 🙂
