Any modern day authors that are similar to Jane Austen, Brontë sisters etc??
I absolutely love the 1800s themed books and these ones mentioned are my favourites ever, but obviously being hundreds of years old i run out of things to read real quick!
She’s not exactly modern but she wrote many books set in the Georgian period; Georgette Heyer
I’d also recommend Daphne du Maurier. Start with Rebecca or Jamaica Inn

There were HUNDREDS of prolific female English authors from the Regency and Victorian eras – I’m a literary scholar specialising in those periods, and the idea of “running out of things to read real quick” from then is laughable.
Try Mary Shelley, Gaskell, Eliot, Braddon, Alcott, Craik, Ingelow and Ouida for starters…
